Cupp, O’Donnell and McGee-Brown receive stamp of approval
(COLUMBUS, July 3, 2012) — The Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA) has announced
endorsements for the 2012 General Election Ohio Supreme Court races. On behalf of its 22,000 members, OSCPA has endorsed Justices Robert Cupp, Terrence O’Donnell and Yvette McGee-Brown.
“We feel strongly that our endorsed candidates are well qualified to serve on Ohio’s highest state court. All three adhere to the important principles of judicial fairness and impartiality, and maintain a commitment to the rule of law,” Barbara Benton, CAE, OSCPA’s Vice President of Governmental Affairs said.
A 19-member Statewide Endorsement Screening Committee and the Society’s 17-member Executive Board separately evaluated the candidates.
OSCPA endorsed Justice Cupp based on his impressive record on the bench, which shows a positive influence on Ohio’s Supreme Court and represents the important principles of impartiality, fairness and judicial restraint.
OSCPA identified Justice O’Donnell’s experience, combined with his longstanding commitment against legislating from the bench, as benefiting all Ohioans.
OSCPA concluded that Justice McGee-Brown’s broad experience in the business community combined with years of judicial service and commitment to applying the law fairly merited OSCPA’s endorsement.
The Ohio Society of CPAs, established in 1908, represents more than 22,000 CPAs in business, education, government and public accounting.
