New OSCPA award to honor teaching excellence at two-year institutions

Apr 05, 2012

Each year, The Ohio Society of CPAs recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions in four key areas of the profession — education, professional service, volunteerism and public service.

This year, the Society has expanded its awards program to recognize teaching excellence with the Outstanding Ohio Two-Year Educator Award. This award is in addition to the long-standing Outstanding Ohio Accounting Educator Award that is presented in partnership with the Ohio Region of the American Accounting Association. The new award acknowledges the important role educators at Ohio’s community colleges and other two-year institutions play in preparing future accountants and CPAs. With a focus on teaching excellence, educational innovation and student support both inside and outside the classroom, this award recognizes accounting professors for their significant contributions to educating tomorrow’s accounting professionals in Ohio.

OSCPA will be accepting nominations through April 30.Nominations can be made by completing the nomination form and returning it to Emily Bice at ebice@ohio-cpa.com or by mail at The Ohio Society of CPAs, 535 Metro Place South, Dublin, Ohio 43017. All of the OSCPA award recipients will be recognized at The Ohio Society of CPAs Members Summit and Annual Meeting in June.
