Ohio CPAs Speak Out

Aug 12, 2011

Creating opportunities for CPAs to tell the profession’s story and teaching Ohioans how to make good financial decisions are the primary goals of Ohio CPAs Speak Out. This public service program provides a direct link between CPAs and their communities. That’s never been more important. Americans are very concerned about their financial futures and CPAs are highly regarded for providing trustworthy and accurate financial advice.

You can help your community become more financially fit by speaking to civic and business groups, the media, and local school children through the following programs:

  •     High School Accounting Career Days
  •     Tax Call-in Shows
  •     Media Spokesperson
  •     Speakers Bureau

High School Accounting Career Days

Join other CPAs in introducing high school students to the many paths a CPA career can take.

Tax Call-in Shows

Each tax season, OSCPA works with media  throughout Ohio to present consumer tax call-in shows. During these live events, CPAs answer taxpayer questions about state and federal returns and may be interviewed on tax or financial topics. The time commitment ranges from 15 minutes – 3 hours per show. CPA firm teams are welcomed. Contact Jennifer Rieman to volunteer at 800.686.2727, ext. 331.

Media Spokesperson

OSCPA members are expert resources for media. Providing background or interviews on specific topics gives you local visibility and builds CPAs’ public reputation as financial advisors. If you have a particular area of expertise and would like to be considered for media opportunities, contact Jennifer Rieman at 800.686.2727, ext. 331.

Speakers Bureau

Creating opportunities for CPAs to tell the profession’s story and address critical financial issues facing Ohioans is one goal of The Ohio Society of CPAs. As a member of the Society’s Speakers Bureau you have a valuable opportunity to help strengthen the reputation of CPAs in Ohio at a grassroots level.
