Operation CPA: Volunteers needed to assist military families in need

Recognizing the sacrifice being made by Ohio’s men and women serving in the Armed Forces, OSCPA is continuing its partnership with the Ohio National Guard to offer Operation CPA, a volunteer-based program that matches CPAs with military families in need of tax preparation assistance.

“The Ohio Society of CPAs and its members want to show support for the men and women in our armed services who are risking their lives for our country,” said Clarke Price, CAE, OSCPA president and CEO. “Deployed service members have many challenges to deal with professionally and personally, and tax return preparation is just one more thing to worry about. We know that the prospect of filing a tax return can be a significant concern to service members and their families. That's where Operation CPA comes in.”

To qualify for assistance, military personnel must meet the following requirements:

    • Ohio resident
    • Currently deployed outside of Ohio

Men and women serving in active duty, Guard or Reserves are eligible.

The Ohio National Guard is promoting Operation CPA through Guard and reservist publications and at deployment briefing. Those interested, including spouses of deployed service members, are instructed to call OSCPA’s CPAnswers to be matched with a CPA in or near their community.

Society members interested in serving as an Operation CPA volunteer can contact Joe Rosato at jrosato@ohio-cpa.com or 800.686.2727, ext. 308.
