Finance and accounting expecting slight salary decrease in 2010
While it may be one of the best jobs in America, the national average salary for finance and accounting positions is expected to decline by 0.85% next year, according to Ajilon’s 2010 Salary Guide. Ajilon attributes the slight decline to the resiliency of the job market for finance professionals despite the current recession.
CFOs and treasurers could expect a wage decrease with the national average salary for these positions decreasing 7.7% in 2010 compared to 2009.
The 2010 Salary Guide forecasts the accounting profession will grow in size and scope in 2010 as proposed changes in regulation and compliance create new roles for accounting professionals.
