Operation CPA: Ohio's deployed troops can receive tax preparation help free of charge

Military families have enough worries, especially when a family member is away on active duty. To ease the burden of tax preparation for those left at home, The Ohio Society of CPAs offers the Operation CPA program for deployed military families.

From January through April, certified public accountants throughout Ohio will prepare 2009 tax returns free of charge for military personnel who are permanent residents of Ohio and currently deployed outside of the state.

Operation CPA is a partnership with the Ohio National Guard.

"The Ohio Society of CPAs offers this much-needed service each year to support the men and women who are serving our country,” said J. Clarke Price, president and CEO of The Ohio Society. “CPAs volunteer their time to prepare tax returns so that families who are missing a loved one have one less thing to worry about.”

Active military personnel who are Ohio residents currently deployed outside of the state will qualify for free tax preparation services through Operation CPA.

To be matched with an Operation CPA volunteer in your area, call The Ohio Society of CPAs toll-free at 888.959.1212 or e-mail cpanswers@ohio-cpa.com. Or click here to fill out the online request form.
