Disaster Plan: Do you have one?
Member benefits to help you prepare
Disaster planning came to the forefront again recently as Ohio faced significant and widespread damage from the recent windstorm caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ike. Did your office or business experience any power outages or structural damages? If so, did you have a disaster plan in place that could guide you in the next steps to take?
Below are a few resources to get you started on the road to disaster planning. Disaster planning is a strategic necessity for any office. The worst – and hardest – time to plan for a disaster is right in the throes of it.
With Agility Recovery Solutions, your business can have access to simple, affordable and easy to use disaster recovery and business continuity services. Don’t let perceived obstacles such as high cost and a complex recovery planning process discourage you from taking the first step. Agility’s ReadySuite membership can keep all Ohio Society members in contact with their customers, vendors, employees and community, no matter what the future holds.
In this booklet, you will find suggestions on steps you can take now to:
- Protect your family's health, life, and property with adequate insurance.
- Consider disaster vulnerability and mitigation before making decisions about relocating and making major purchases.
- Pay for mitigation process.
- Plan financially for the possibility of a job loss or disability.
- Safeguard your important financial and legal records.
- Prepare your loved ones to weather a disaster even if you are not there to care for them.
While this booklet may not answer all your questions, it will answer many of them and, we hope, enable you and your family to avoid a financial crisis if you ever experience disaster.
