Give back to your community on Accounting for Kids® Day
How would you like to spend a day in an elementary school classroom, playing games with kids and getting to know other Ohio Society members at the same time? That’s what you’ll do as a volunteer for Accounting for Kids® Day on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Sign up now and get involved with the Society’s most popular volunteer activity!
Accounting for Kids® makes community service fun. But the best part is that volunteers have a real impact on the students they work with through the program. The main activity during the event is a stock market simulation game which introduces students to fundamental financial concepts, such as saving, investing and budgeting. The game opens students’ eyes to the importance of good money management, planting a seed that can influence them to make responsible financial decisions in the future.
When you sign up to volunteer, you’ll be paired with a team of three or four professional Society members. The Society will match your team with a classroom in your area and provide the materials and training you need for the event. Volunteering, networking and fun all in one – it’s a perfect combination.
Event details and a sign-up form are available on the Society’s Web site. For more information, contact Melanie Sonderman at msonderman@ohio-cpa.com or 800.686.2727 ext. 953.
