Centennial Campaign Exceeds $1.5 million
Volunteers and Contributors Drive Campaign over goal
Volunteers for The Centennial Campaign are celebrating more than the New Year this January. The year-long campaign officially closed at the end of 2008 with gifts and commitments in excess of the $1.5 million campaign goal.
In the final months of the campaign, pledges from OSCPA members and CPA firms throughout Ohio effectively pushed the campaign past the finish line and illustrated CPAs’ strong support for the future of the CPA profession.
The Centennial Campaign — the focal point of The OSCPA’s 100th anniversary celebration — raised more than $1 million which will create a permanent, unrestricted endowment for The Ohio CPA Foundation. An additional $500,000 will support and expand current Foundation programs while the endowment is built over the next five years.
“It has been truly rewarding to serve as chair for The Centennial Campaign,” said Jerry Esselstein, CPA, Jerry L. Esselstein Company LLC. “More than 3,000 CPAs participated, either individually or through their firms, and thanks to their support, the Foundation will be able to continue its important work:
- Bring greater public visibility to the value of the CPA credential
- Ensure talented students understand the rewards of CPA careers and increasingly pursue the designation
- Improve financial literacy and awareness for everyone.”
