What is the CPA to CPA Program?

The CPA to CPA program serves as a resource to connect members with a peer-to-peer network consisting of other members for limited advice or counsel. Provided at no charge, this program is designed for members to receive a one-time, quick answer to a question from a colleague who has experience in that area of accounting. All services are entirely confidential.

As a CPA to CPA Advisor, what will I do?

As a volunteer you will serve as an advisor to members who have a question about your area(s) of expertise.  Volunteers are asked to answer quick questions. Volunteers are not expected to handle complex issues.

When a member calls the Society wishing to participate in the CPA to CPA program, they will be given the phone number of a volunteer specializing in the area in which they have a question. As a CPA to CPA volunteer we ask that they be accessible to answer a member’s question and return all messages in a timely manner. 

Volunteers are asked to answer quick questions based on their experience. Volunteers are not expected to conduct research. If it’s acceptable to the volunteer, they may give the member direction (professional literature or other resources) for him/her to research the question independently.

Do I qualify to participate?

To qualify to become a CPA to CPA Advisor you must be a member of The Ohio Society of CPAs and have an active Ohio CPA license. The Society will assign you as an advisor for the areas of the accounting profession you feel you have a level of expertise in.

What is the time commitment to be a CPA to CPA Advisor?

CPA to CPA Advisors are needed on a limited basis when a member calls with a question in your area of expertise.
