Financial Fitness Ohio

What is Financial Fitness Ohio?

To help Ohioans improve their financial futures, The Ohio Society of CPAs in partnership with The Ohio CPA Foundation launched Financial Fitness Ohio – an initiative led by CPAs from across the state to educate Ohioans on how to make informed decisions about their personal finances.

Ohioans today face a growing list of personal financial challenges. The average family spends $1.22 for every dollar it earns. Bankruptcy and credit card debt are at all time highs. Many consumers are not saving enough money to retire and have no reserve funds to help them through a difficult financial or medical emergency.

Simply put, Ohioans are not adequately prepared to meet current and future financial needs.

CPA volunteers from among the Society’s nearly 24,000 members are at the heart of the Financial Fitness Ohio initiative. Through Financial Fitness Ohio, CPAs apply their financial skills and business knowledge to help Ohioans become financially fit.

As a volunteer, what will I do?

There are a variety of opportunities available as a Financial Fitness Ohio volunteer. Volunteers are called upon to deliver financial literacy presentations to students and community groups, staff the Financial Fitness booth at various events, and contribute financial expertise and content to the Society’s consumer Web site http://www.financialfitnessohio.com/.

Do I qualify to participate?

CPAs are uniquely qualified to educate the public on personal financial matters. The variety of opportunities available allows anyone to get involved – whether you are comfortable speaking to a group, writing an article or working with individuals one-on-one.
