Ohio Society of CPAs Committees and Councils

What is the role of Committees and Councils?

The Ohio Society of CPAs relies on its committees and councils to govern and set the direction for The Society staff.

By participating on a committee or council you have the opportunity to share your experiences and expertise to help shape the present and future policies, initiatives, and strategic plans of The Ohio Society of CPAs. At the same time participation allows you to increase your personal and professional network and leadership abilities.

As a Committee or Council, what will I do?

Every committee or council has a different purpose. Volunteer expectations vary depending on which group you’d like to join. Typically volunteers will be asked to participate in at least 3-4 meetings a year, research issues being discussed, be prepared to share your insight in a collaborative environment, and be available to be a resource for Society staff.

Do I qualify to be a Committee or Council member?

Each committee or council has a different set of qualifications for its members. In general to volunteer, you must be a member of The Ohio Society of CPAs. Additional requirements can be found in the descriptions for each group.

What is the time commitment to be a member of a Committee or Council?

Time commitment will vary based on the assignment. Volunteers are asked to attend all meetings and conference calls, review meeting materials, consider and research issues presented at meetings, and be available to be a resource for Society staff.

Where do I go from here?

The Ohio Society has several committees or councils. To learn more about their purpose, qualifications for volunteers, and how to become a member, contact Joe Rosato at jrosato@ohio-cpa.com.
