What is peer review? Peer review is a review of a firm’s quality control system in accounting and/or auditing to maintain and improve the quality of the accounting and/or auditing services performed by firms. It is a statutory requirement for all Ohio CPA firms that provide attest services (audit, review or compilation), as well as a membership requirement for both AICPA and The Ohio Society. Read all FAQs. 

White paper navigates through the revised peer review standards

The AICPA’s Peer Review Board has issued a white paper to serve as a bridge between the current and revised standards.

The white paper, Navigating Through the Revised AICPA Standards for Performing and Reporting on Peer Reviews and Related Interpretations, explains how the changes may affect enrolled firms (including those responsible for the firm’s quality control function), peer reviewers, entities administering peer reviews, and peer review users, including regulators.

Revised peer review standards issued

The AICPA Peer Review Board has released revised Standards for Performing and Reporting on Peer Reviews and Interpretations to the Standards. The revised standards are expected to result in a more efficient and effective peer review process.

AICPA launches Facilitated State Board Access pilot program

Ohio and 5 other states—North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas are participating in the AICPA Peer Review Facilitated State Board Access pilot program which began in mid-October 2007. Read more.
