The Ohio Society of CPAs is the voice of and for Ohio CPAs. This is reflected in OSCPA’s flagship publication – CPA Voice. This semi-monthly news publication covers the latest news and trends impacting Ohio CPAs and businesses, plus Society news and events.

Members can read each issue online in a new digital format.

Issues are published 10 times a year with two combined issues during tax season: January/February, March/April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December.

Authors needed

Do you have fresh insights on breaking issues impacting the profession? If so, we want to hear from you. Please contact the editor at cpavoice@ohio-cpa.com with your article ideas. Articles should be written from a news perspective and be between 600 and 1,000 words. Articles should be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word or other compatible format.

Members are also encouraged to share their opinions by submitting a Letter to the Editor on any topic or article. Comments should be sent to cpavoice@ohio-cpa.com. Letters may be edited for style.

Self-assessment exams

Available self-assessment exams

A self-assessment exam is published in each issue of CPA Voice. Issues are published 10 times a year with two combined issues during tax season: January/February, March/April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December.

Exams are 12 questions long and can be submitted for one hour of CPE credit in specialized knowledge (double issues are worth up to two CPE credits with 24 questions). Exams are available for one year after publication. The CPE credits are approved by the Accountancy Board of Ohio. To receive credit, you must earn a grade of 75% or better.

The exams are available in print and online. Costs of the exam are as follows:

For the double issues of January/February and March/April:

Payment for online exams is due upon submission. There are no refunds for self-assessment exams. Respondents will be notified by e-mail of their exam results within three business days.

The e-mail message from the Society is proof of passing each exam and of the CPE credit earned. Each e-mail indicates if the credits are A&A, taxation, specialized knowledge, management or consulting. You should save the exam e-mail message; however, yearly transcripts of CPE credit provided by The Ohio Society will include CPE credit earned from taking the self-assessment exam.
