Staff Training (A&A and Tax)

Below are descriptions of just some of the available programs focusing on staff training. As you look these over, keep two things in mind: One, this is just a small sample of the hundreds of courses available to you and, two, The Ohio Society will work with you to develop customized training that will meet your specific needs.

  • A&A Staff training programs
Staff Level 1 – Entry Level Staff

This course is a must for firms who need to get new staff trained and up and running quickly. The program demonstrates to inexperienced staff with limited real-world experience a variety of workpapers for typical assignments in the first year of the field. It will also include a discussion of compilation, review and audit procedures.

    Who will benefit
Staff accountants with less than one year of experience

  • Staff Level 2 – Experienced Staff
As they gain more experience, staff are expected to take on more complex assignments with minimal supervision. This program provides the basics on tailoring audit programs and preparing GAAP financials.

    Who will benefit
Staff accountants with one to three years of experience

  • Staff Level 3 – In-Charge
Many accountants find doing much easier than delegating. This program concentrates on building supervision and engagement management skills. It also addresses reviewing documentation and writing review comments.

    Who will benefit
Staff accountants with more than two to three years of experience

  • Tax Staff Training Programs
Tax Staff Training: Level 1 – Individual

The new accountant with little or no tax experience will gain real-world, practical training from this program. It bridges the gap between school and practice. This is not a theory course. It’s the foundation for understanding the federal income tax code and its application to all kinds of taxpayers. New staff accountants will return from this program ready to make a profitable contribution to the firm’s tax practice.

    Who will benefit
Accountants and paraprofessionals who want a thorough introduction to, or comprehensive review of, tax compliance fundamentals
